Here we go…Cubs v. Braves
Big Z on the hill…here’s to ’10
I found this guy via Chicago Tough…
Bernie the Brewer is now PC, and a pussy
Bernie Brewer has been the mascot of the Milwaukee Brewers since 1973. Since that time, the mustachioed man has slid into a beer mug after every home run…that was until 2000, the final year the Brewers played in County Stadium.
The move to Miller Park eliminated Bernie Brewer’s sliding into a gigantic beer barrel. The move was made to prevent the advertisement of drinking towards children. The move angered many beer guzzling Milwaukeeans.
The ale-driven mascot will be sliding into a large glass of pomegranate cranberry juice.
“We feel that the anti-oxidants will be good for Bernie and the people of Milwaukee. You can’t live off of cheese and beer and expect to be healthy,” stated health expert Gwen Maline.
Okay. Whatever. Whatever Bernie does, at least the ‘crew will be competing for that coveted third spot in the NL Central as usual.
Well, at least we Cubbies fans have a new horse to kick.
Silva’s first Spring appearance was great. Not great in the conventional sense, but great in that we have something to bitch about with Milton gone.

Good luck dude. AAA Iowa is one hell of a club.
Look out…Manny is being Manny, again
From mlb.com:
PHOENIX — Manny Ramirez said Monday that 2010 will be his final season with the Dodgers.
Ramirez — 37 and in the final year of a two-year contract — hinted at retirement or a return to the American League as a designated hitter as possibilities, but committed to neither.
“I know I won’t be here next year, so I’ll just enjoy myself,” Ramirez said. “I’m happy I’m here now, I just know I won’t be back. I’ll wait until September and check out the numbers and see where we’re at. The game is still fun, but I’ll wait until the season ends and see where my family’s at and stuff like that, and make a choice. I just want to see how my body responds and stuff like that.”
When asked if he would welcome a return to the AL, he said: “I don’t know. We’ll take it a day at a time. I don’t know about tomorrow. I know about today. When the season is over, we’ll see where it’s at. If they let me play, I play.”
Sounds about right. He only ended up in LA after the entirety of the AL passed on his contract…
At least we will have one more season of watching him run around like a lazy jackass in the field.
